They aren't too heavy, and are the perfect size (compare to a half-dollar coin). My only hesitation I'd have before suggesting them to a friend is that they don't seem to be made for sensitive ears. If you are easily irriated with earrings, I would resist buying them. I did expect them to be metal but I believe they are really a very, very hard plastic. They are durable, and won't bend like metal at all, so that's a plus.The cache where the earring secures IS metal, unfortunately I had to adjust it so it would hold the earring closed (just eased it closed a bit with my teeth, and opened and closed it a few times so it wouldn't get stuck). Another unfortunate thing about the gauge... Its rectangular. Earings usually have a smooth, round gauge that slips right into your ear hole, but these are a bit thick (vertically) with a more angular edge than is comfortable. It hurt a bit when they were in at first, but I haven't worn earrings in several months, and any earrings I wear, the gauge is as thin as it gets. The ache went away until I took them out, and I felt it a bit. The light weight and shape of the gauge prevents free swinging movement, but overall, I am very happy I bought them. I love my Mockingjay earrings from The Hunger Games and have gotten several complements on them. I will not that the clasps needed to be pinched in order to securely hold the posts but other than that they are above reproach! |
